Hello there. We have a new short which was made specially for Philips Parallel Lines contest. There were two main requirements:
The film had to be maximum 3 minutes long,
Only this dialogue allowed was this:
— What is that?
— It’s a unicorn.
— Never seen one up close before.
— Beautiful.
— Get away, get away!
— I’m sorry.
Our short is titled Metamorphosis. You can watch it here or on YouTube
Last time we tried to make a blood burst effect with a fishing line and a washer. This time we decided to try other ways like using pyrotechnics. Ingredients are still very cheap: a piece of wood (for protection), a petard, a needle (to make a hole in the petard), a nichrome filament (to use as a detonator), a wire and some batteries. September, 26 — “Morning” premiere went very well. Photos are avaliable here. Most of the 30 people liked the movie and they liked all the old stuff either.
Now everybody can see the film: download it (better quality) or watch it on our site (easier). And we wont mind if you tell us how much you liked or disliked the film here.
For those who are either too young to have seen or too old to remember :-) An 8-minute short film Bedhead (1991) was shot with an 8-mm camcorder and won a lot of small film festivals.
To Each His Cinema (Chacun son cinéma) is a collective film of 33 shorts directed by different directors about their feeling about cinema. I liked films made by Lars von Trier, Takeshi Kitano and Zhang Yimou.
It took me 20 minutes to make it using Adobe Photoshop + After Effects. It’ll look better with smoke and shell flying from the pistol. And, yeah, the last two flashes are too far from the barrel :-)
Here is a British independent studio Blue-Tongue Films. Those who visit Future Shorts or just like to watch movies on YouTube could have seen their short film “Spider”.
Except “Spider” these guys make feature films (you can watch trailers on their site) and music videos. They also shoot some shorts. I liked “Lucky”. It could be useful for young filmmakers to watch it in the perspective of how it was made.
I’ve always loved Bruce Campbell. Since the first time I saw The Evil Dead and then Army of Darkness and that TV series about Xena. And I’m glad that Bruce is going to release his new movie soon where he plays a lead role. It’s titled My Name Is Bruce. And here is its trailer.
